Leicester metalcore heroes, If Looks Could Kill, are hitting the road again in June for a short run of dates with friends Burning The Day.

Following a run of eight shows across the UK in April prior to the release of their debut mini album, Breathe, Sleeper, Breathe, the guys are wasting no time in getting out on the road again.

Europe’s introduction to Canadian metal juggernaut, Burning The Day, is out Monday.

The six track EP contains songs new as well as old. It’s release coincides with the start of the bands three month tour.

Breathe, Sleeper, Breathe is out today, Monday 6th May, worldwide. The band’s  second release since signing with us has brought rave reviews following their tour in April.

The band celebrated by playing the EP in full to a packed O2 Academy in Leicester on Saturday night supported by label mates and close friends, Flip Like Wilson. Members of Grey Goes Down and Canadian metal Juggernaut  Burning The Day (over on their 3 month UK tour), were also in attendance. Thanks to all the fans who turned out to make it one of the best shows the band has ever played. We hope it’s only the start of the success the band will enjoy.

The boys are set to tour again in June supporting Burning The Day on a run of nationwide O2 Academy shows before they take a month off to prepare for a sell out show at Lee’s Palace in Toronto, Canada on September 5th.

London Metalcore stars, ‘I, The Writer’, have signed with SMR this week. We won a hard fought race to sign the band after EMI passed on the band and let it be known they wanted the band to develop on a UK independent label.

The signing comes on the back of the band’s sell out shows with Being As An Ocean and Napoleon and a stellar review in Kerrang! Magazine. They are finishing up their debut full length release as we go to press and are set to tour in the late summer.

With a killer album in the pipeline and shows already booked with label mates Burning The Day and If Looks Could Kill it’s already looking like 2013 could well pave the way for the band take the UK by storm.

Toronto metal stars, Burning The Day hit the UK in May on the back of 3 dates in Ireland to promote their limited edition European Tour EP, Breakaway. The 6 track release will introduce the UK and Europe to the band just in time for the release of their debut SMR full length, Metamorphosis in June.

The Grey Goes Down tour date with Flip Like Wilson on May 24th has been moved to The Intake in Mansfield following their storming performance at Blast Fest on March 9th won over a new clutch of fans.

It’s that time of year again. The About To Break Tour has been announced. This year its brought to you by Big Cheese Magazine and Live Alliance and features two SMR acts on the fixed line-up.

If Looks Could Kill and Grey Goes Down will both be on the four date event straight off the back of UK tours and it promoises to be a great little tour again this year.

The tour kicks off in Peterborough at the Met Lounge on 1st August before heading up to the O2 Academy in Leicester the next day (tickets available now from http://www.o2academyleicester.co.uk/event/50518/about-to-break-tour-2013-tickets ).

Saturday the 3rd sees the tour hit Nottingham for a FREE entry event at Bunkers Hill. They are releasing a limited edition European Tour EP in May to coincide with their first ever UK and European tour. The dates will stretch over three months and will help pave the way for their new album, set for release in September, which will contain nine new tracks. Lead single, Breakaway, will be a sneak preview given to fans on the exclusive European Tour EP.

The album will also come with a live DVD and tour documentary filmed by Peter Bowers (Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Guns ‘n’ Roses). Peter holds the Guiness world record for the number of cameras used in a single live concert. Needless to say we delighted to have him onboard on this exciting project.

Many people may have not even heard of BPMG, and their company structure is complex to say the least, and with offices and indie labels across the world now, SMR being exclusive with them for the UK and Europe, they are a global media corporation which is comprised of Blue Pie Music (distribution and licensing, published by Universal Music Group Publishing and UMG Australia and based in Australia), Blue Pie Records (Australia and USA) and Blue Pie Productions (touring and live events, based in Sacramento in California USA).

We are delighted to get the deal ahead of two other UK based labels to take charge of the UK and Europe on behalf of BPMG and we are extremely excited as to what this allows us to do with our roster of bands.

We have also entered into a partnership with Live Alliance Ltd (booking agency based in UK) to facilitate not only regualr tours for our bands but to bring BPMG’s artists to the UK and Europe. So far we have tour deals confirmed for bands from USA, Canada and Sweden through BPMG and we’ll be introducing them to the UK from May onwards this year. Watch this space.

Grey Goes Down are the first SMR band to benefit from the new relationship we have garnered with new publishers Universal Music Group.

After becoming a college radio staple in the USA and Canada, wiping the floor with major label acts No Doubt, Feeder and Bullet For My Valentine in the December single release press and being the only non-major label act to be named in Capital FM’s top twelve rock singles of 2012 the band have agreed a development deal with Universal Music Group.

The band will be mentored by former Roadrunner Records head of artist development , Bob Stevenson (developed such acts as Slipknot and Funeral For A Friend). Bob and the band’s hard work will be rewarded with a full deal in early 2014 should they achieve certain requirements UMG have set out for them.

We’ve signed 3 new awesome bands, and out performed labels such as Interscope and Sony BMG in the review pages of major music publications. We’ve also had our website crashed by over 200,000 streams of our mp3 player in one day. You could say even the bad points had large silver linings.

Our bands have worked their socks off, as is the norm for SMR bands, and it’s great to see the label working as a family of bands. Earlier this month it was great to see two of our bands watching and supporting another of our bands as they finally got to play at one of the UK’s most esteemed rock venues, Rock City in Nottingham.

We aso had About To Break’s first year. The tour was sponsored by Loud Stuff and took SMR bands to Glasgow, Southampton, Birmingham, Nottingham and Leicester. Next year the tour will be bigger and a bigger sponsor is already in place.

We shall also be working with new booking agents and plugging partners so hopefully next year you should all be seeing more from our bands and the music they have to offer. Thanks goes out to everyone who has worked with us and helped us and our bands this year, you know who you are.

Preachers Go To Hell is the first joint release from SMR and Blue Pie Records. Having had the video for lead single, Stay with Me, aired on Kerrang! TV and reacher over 84,000 views on youtube the release should be a success second time round.

Deny The Lie have gone back into the studio to demo new material and work on pre-production ahead of the studio sessions for their first EP next year.

Following on from their successful UK tour this summer, which was the band’s first extended run of dates between May and September (including a number of appearances on the Loud Stuff.com About To Break Tour), the band are working on no less than 15 new tracks. The best of which shall make up their as of yet untitled Extended Play project which shall be released in 2013.
